Allison Cara Tolman has been an actress for over 20 years. Her role as Molly Solverson, in season one of FX's Fargo TV show has earned her nominations for Emmy and Golden Globe. Tolman was recognized for her portrayal of Minnesota the Police officer Molly Solverson. Vanity Fair wrote that Tolman "calmly took over" the film. Tolman was praised for her character. She received the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Ministry/Movie and received Best Actress nominations at the Emmy Awards and for the Golden Globes. Tolman got the role of a guest on two episodes in the role of romance novelist Abby Berman on The Mindy Show the following year. In 2015, she was the role of a support on Michael Dougherty s comedy horror movie Krampus. Tolman was turned down for parts in the supporting roles such as best friends, parents, spouses and even husbands after her first big role on Fargo. She was looking for a role that was different. Tolman was a part of the ABC drama series Downward Dog in 2017, inspired by Animal Media Group's online series. It was cancelled after one season. Tolman starred on the ABC drama Emergence. It premiered on September 24, 2019 but ended the show after just one season, on May 21, 2021. Despite the fact that Tolman tweeted it received "pretty good" ratings. The actress was also an guest on the show on NBC called Good Girls.
